Margaret Madison Phelan is an attorney licensed to practice law in Washington and Oregon. Margaret graduated from the University of Iowa, University of Hawaii and Northwestern School of Law of Lewis & Clark College. Margaret was admitted to the Oregon bar in 1986 and the Washington bar in 1992.
Since 1992 Margaret has focused her practice in Vancouver, WA on the long term care planning needs of seniors and persons with disabilities. Margaret is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. She is a past-president of the Washington chapter of NAELA, having received its Most Valuable Member award in 2003. Margaret is also a past board member of the Washington State Bar Elder Law Section, past Secretary of the Clark County Bar Association and was a founding member of the Oregon State Bar Elder Law Section. Recently she served on the ethics panel of a local hospital. She currently holds an AVVO rating of 10.
During her free time, Margaret loves to kayak the flat waters of the Northwest and explore the area with her faithful canine companion Bosley. Every year she tries to travel to a country she has never visited. Last year she enjoyed exploring Iceland and next plans to travel to Morocco.Margaret and her staff are committed to helping their clients find solutions for the challenges they face. This is done through seminars and providing educational materials such as the Alzheimer’s Resource Kit. The resources kit helps seniors and their families protect their hard-earned savings and are a guide for providing care to loved ones. She also regularly writes articles for the Senior Messenger.
Karen L. Webber is an attorney licensed to practice law in Washington and Oregon. She was admitted to practice in Oregon in 2003 and in Washington in 2004. Karen is a graduate of Illinois Wesleyan University and Northwestern School of Law of Lewis & Clark College. She has a varied background including several years of experience with a national trust company as well as working for our offices while attending law school.
Karen is a member of the Washington State Bar Association, Oregon State Bar Association, Clark County Bar Association, American Bar Association, Washington Women Lawyers, and The George & Donald Simpson American Inn of Court.
Away from the office, Karen enjoys free time with her husband, is an active member in PEO, an International Women’s Organization, and Pink Lemonade, a project supporting those affected by breast cancer. Karen completed her first half marathon in 2012.
Karen enjoys helping people understand complex legal issues. She takes pride in guiding our clients through the complex maze of laws that impact their lives and the loved ones they are caring for. The Alzheimer’s Resources Kit is one of her favorite tools for families facing long term care challenges.
Bosley is our law office pooch. He loves to greet visitors to our offices and likes to attend meetings (if our clients wish). He will shake, sit and lie down. All with enthusiasm in exchange for treats!
